What about the environment?
The simple fact that you are considering veneers is better for the environment and the worlds tree resource as a whole. As the log of the tree is effectively sliced into thin veneers then, when used in conjunction with a man made composite board, the tree can produce many more items of furniture, cover more walls and provide many more metres of shelving than if the that tree had been cut into sections and used as solid wood.
FACT - Veneer makes the worlds trees go further.
Spa and Fritz Kohl are fully committed to preserving and improving the environment and as such all veneers that can be sourced from managed and sustainable sources are done so. That includes the majority of species grown in Europe, North America and some grown in African countries.
If you wish only to search for veneers that we can supply FSC certification for please tick this box at time of entering your search criteria. If the tree symbol appears in conjunction with the veneer then FSC certification can be provided.
However the fact remains that certain veneers can only be produced from trees grown and sourced from countries that have no environmental controls or legislation and it is therefore impossible to provide any evidence that those species are from managed or sustainable sources.
It is worth considering that when selecting veneers and the issue of
that veneers origin is important to you or your customer, then we can
only recommend that you do not select any veneers that are grown in
South America and seek advice as to the origin of those grown in any of the African countries.
If you know the type of 'look' you wish to achieve with your veneer and
wish only to consider those sourced from a managed forest then please
contact either Spa Laminates or Fritz Kohl directly and they will be
able to suggest alternative veneers that are available from managed and
sustainable sources.
